Most building on WesterosCraft happens through contributing to active projects — claiming plots, taking on Mini Builds, and working on Special structures. You don't need to lead a project to make a meaningful impact on the map.
Finding Work: The Task Board
Project leaders post available work on the Task Board in Discord. This is the primary place to find plots, Mini Builds, Specials, and Districts that need builders.
Browsing Tasks
Each task has its own channel, named with an ID and a short description — like 001-plots-at-bandallon or 042-winterfell-crypts. Browse the open channels to find something that interests you. Read the description the project leader posted: it will include what needs doing, references and screenshots, the nearest warp, materials to use, and any other guidance.
Claiming a Task
When you find something you want to work on, hit the Claim button in the channel. A checkmark gets added to the channel name so everyone knows it's spoken for. From there, coordinate directly with the project leader in that channel.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Multiple builders can discuss and pick up work within a single task channel, even after it's been claimed
- If you claim something, follow through — or unclaim it so someone else can pick it up
- When the work is done, the project leader closes the task to keep the board clean
Posting a Task
If you're a project leader with work to share, head to #post-a-plot in Discord and click Create Task. Give it a short name, hit submit, and a private channel is created automatically with a unique ID. Drop your details there — references, screenshots, warps, materials, deadlines, whatever helps a builder pick it up confidently.
You can bundle multiple plots into a single task when they're similar or in the same area.
Claiming a Plot In-Game
Once you've coordinated on Discord, head to the project in-game:
- Find your plot using the warp and any references the project leader provided
- Place a sign on the plot to mark it as yours
- Confirm with the project leader on Discord that you've claimed it
Types of Work
OPEN plots are available to any Builder, including Apprentices. These are straightforward structures that follow the established patterns of the project. Most available work falls into this category.
SPECIAL plots require an application to the project leader before you start. These are structures that need closer oversight or specialized skills — keeps, septs, unique landmarks, or large buildings critical to the layout. The project leader will want to understand your approach before you begin.
Mini Builds are sub-projects within a larger project — holdfasts, hamlets, mining operations, and similar. They require their own planning and layout work, and you'll need to coordinate closely with the project leader on scope and approach.
Working With the Project Leader
The project leader is your primary point of contact throughout. They're responsible for the quality and coherence of the project and will review your work before the Warden sees it. Expect feedback — the goal is collaboration, not just sign-off.
Communicate in the task channel and in-game. If you hit a question about style, materials, or the project vision, ask rather than guess. It's much easier to adjust early than to redo finished work.
