Community Charter
WesterosCraft has been running for over 14 years. In that time, we've grown into a creative community of builders, coders, and artists united by a shared passion for the literary works of George R.R. Martin. Hundreds of members have contributed to our most beloved projects, and many have become friends along the way.
This project is entirely voluntary. Our growth isn't measured solely in completed builds, but in the community we've built together. Where the Server Rules cover what's enforceable, this charter covers the culture behind them — the expectations that aren't about specific behavior, but about how we work together.
Community Principles
- Embrace Fair Feedback: Offer and accept constructive feedback. The build quality on this server comes from people helping each other improve.
- Self-Moderation: Take responsibility for your own behavior. Don't wait for a mod to tell you something is out of line.
- Respect Creative Vision: Appreciate and uphold the creative work of the project. When you build in someone's project, you're working under their vision.
- Value Contributions: Recognize the efforts of fellow builders, even work you think could be better. Everyone is learning.
The Role of Moderation
Moderators handle community moderation and quality control over builds. All moderation decisions are made fairly and without favoritism. The mod team's role has shifted over time from creative leadership to community moderation and conflict resolution. This charter exists partly to help ensure that moderating WesterosCraft remains a creative outlet rather than unpaid labor.
Reporting misconduct: If you believe misconduct has occurred, report it via the relevant channels with supporting evidence. Each case is handled by committee and investigated by weighing evidence against server rules. We cannot investigate without accurate and detailed information.
Self-Moderation
The responsibility for upholding our community principles lies with each member. By participating, you commit to treating others with respect, following building rules, and flagging misconduct when you see it. Our Golden Rule — be respectful and kind — is intentionally broad. It covers any behavior the mod team finds counterproductive to the well-being of our community. We all have a duty to act in a way that is encouraging, friendly, and civil. By choosing to participate, you enter into this agreement.
